The First Annual Kurt Cobain Memorial Concert was a huge success, thanks to the hard work of local volunteers, the graciousness of the Historic 7th Street Theatre, a host of high-energy rock bands, and a loyal community who remembers our local son, Kurt Cobain and the legacy that he and the band Nirvana have left the world of Rock Music.
With attendance near 600, the event was very well attended, taking the Theater and Committee members pleasantly by surprise! The crowd was enthusiastic to say the least, and the bands that played that night (Including last-minute surprise guests direct from Belgium) put on a memorable show, featuring covers of some of Nirvana's best numbers.
It was a long time in the planning, and Committee members couldn't be happier with the event. We're already in discussions for the 2nd Annual, and excitement is building, even as the ringing is just dying down from our 6-hour rock fest!
We will be posting articles from the media here over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!
